Student Research Assistant (2 Positions)
Project: Cardiac Digital Twin and Reinforcement Learning

Duration: February 26 – May 31
Hours: 10 hours per week
Compensation: $25 per hour
Project Overview
We are seeking two motivated students to contribute to a research project at the
intersection of computational cardiovascular modeling and reinforcement learning.
The project focuses on developing learning-enabled control strategies within
cardiac digital twin models for adaptive decision-making in complex
cardiovascular physiology.
Responsibilities
- Implement and evaluate reinforcement learning algorithms in Python
- Work with cardiac digital twin simulation environments
- Design and run computational experiments
- Analyze results and assist with technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Current CU Boulder undergraduate or graduate student
- Strong programming skills (Python required)
- Background in machine learning, reinforcement learning, control, or numerical methods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reinforcement learning (tabular or deep RL)
- Familiarity with scientific computing tools (NumPy, PyTorch, etc.)
- Interest in biomedical systems or cyber-physical systems
